Salem, Massachusetts

On the way home from Maine we stopped overnight in Salem, Massachusetts. It was all of our first time there. The first morning we went to a local breakfast spot to eat and it was GOOD!
Then, we hopped on a trolly to take a tour of the town.
It was my second trolly ride ever and second one in week.
We saw a graveyard where famous people were buried- creepy!
And a shipyard where they were doing reenactments.
The hot sun tired me out and I took a little nap.
Then, Mom just HAD to stop at the country's oldest candy shop.
Where we bought the first type of candy ever made as gifts.
And Mom tried the famous carmel turtle that Oprah
orders every year. She said it was very, very good.
Just posin' with Mom.
Later in the day we went to a the Salem Witch
Museum to learn about the witch trials.
It was a bit creepy and I was ready to get out of there and head for home!

Swan Lakin' it up

We just got home from an amazing trip from Maine. Mom and my first trip there! After taking a few days to drive up there and enjoy the sights we made it to our house on Swan Lake- a cute little lake Dad used to visit with his family as a child.
We stopped at one of Dad's old stomping grounds- Perry's Nut House. We picked up yummy fudge that was used to make delicious smores later in the week.
One day we stopped at Young's Lobster Pound- a famous eatery in Maine. It was so good Mom and Dad went back one night for dinner!
Another day we visited a fort. This was a picture of it from a newfound breakfast spot we went to twice!
Some days we just hung by the lake and swam. Mom was shocked the water was crystal clear and warm. We could even see little fish swimming around!
I enjoyed some chocolate ice pops as you can see!
Dad went kyaking a few times on the water. I was too little to try it out but next year I'll have my life jacket and can get in with Dad. Yay!
I was sad when we had to leave, but know that we will be back next year to make more memories together.

Acadia National Park

We packed up the car and drove over an hour to Acadia National Park while we were in Maine one day. It was exciting because it was Mom and my first time to a national park. We got in a lot of sight seeing! After climbing up a hill to get our map at the visitor's center we started enjoying the beautiful day.
First, we went to the beach to enjoy the sand, water, and our packed lunch.
Yum!
Mom and I tried to soak up the sunshine as much as possible.
Then we drove around the park, stopping at some scenic locations.
It was a little breezy! Look at my hair flying around!
We stopped for refreshments and we decided next year we would eat lunch at this restaurant by the water.
Then, we drove to the top of Cadillac Mountain. It was a windy drive, but we made it. And boy oh boy was it windy up there!
I smiled for the family photo.
Then decided it was getting a little too breezy...
And it was time to go!
Can't wait to go back again next year. I'll be able to run around the beach and explore!
